NHC Missions Strategy
P.E.A.C.E.
There are 5 global giants:
1. Spiritual Emptiness
2. Self Centered Leadership
3. Poverty
4. Disease and sickness
5. Illiteracy
Nags Head Church is committed to tackling these global giants both here at home and also abroad.
Through our ongoing relationship with Camp Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera we launched PEACE for the Bahamas. Our church is partnering with local churches in the Bahamas, not to do missions for the local church but assist the local church in reaching their community.
How do we do this?
We help the church:
Promote Spiritual Reconciliation
Equip Servant Leaders
Assist the Poor
Care for the Sick
Educate the Next Generation
We send our partners (members) multiple times a year on an international mission trip.
Local Missions
We believe strongly that missions start right here at home. Throughout the year we have mission projects that fit into our own local PEACE strategy. We feed the Nags Head lifeguards dinner during the summer. We host a 9/11 lunch for our local emergency services. Our church has a team of caring adults who go and volunteer at a local elementary school to help students with reading, math and also serve as playground monitors. We are heavily involved with foster care. We have several families who are foster families and some who have even adopted through foster care. We are connected with DHS by providing a backpack with necessities, a fleece blanket, and a duffle bag for children who are placed in foster care. We also will hold special outreach events in the community as well as collect food for our local food pantry. We also host A Room in the Inn one week a year by providing shelter and meals for the homeless in our community. All of these things we do are to share the love of Christ by meeting practical needs as a way for the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission Partners
NHC designates close to 20% or our annual budget towards missions.
We have mission partners in NC, France, South Asia, Honduras, Italy, and Ukraine. These missionaries are supported financially on a monthly basis and we have sent teams to serve with some of them.
