Nags Head Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Nathanael Stevens
Lead Pastor
Nathanael Stevens has been with us since the fall of 2020. He grew up in rural eastern PA but moved to the Outer Banks from the Mon Valley area south of Pittsburgh. He met his wife Summer in Greek class at Dallas Seminary. They now have five precious and rambunctious kids.
As a family, they enjoy the beach, going for bike rides and walks, and general horsing around. Nathanael enjoys working on old cars, sailing, fishing, carpentry, and being outdoors.
Nathanael has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from St. John’s College, a masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Tom Lee
Pastor of Partner Care
A member of our elder team since 1996, Tom and his wife Sandra have been Partners at NHC longer than anyone, attending since his childhood. Tom leads our Usher Team, our Partner Care team and teaches on Sundays several times a year. When he's not serving at NHC, Tom operates a drywall and painting business.
Tom and his wife, Sandra are the parents of four daughters and six grandchildren.
TERRY MOORE
Executive Pastor
Terry Moore serves as the Executive Pastor at Nags Head Church, a role he began in May 2023. He has been married to his wife, Sarah, since 2007. They were married at Nags Head Church by former pastor Andy Lawrenson.
With over 30 years of management experience, Terry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his position. As Executive Pastor, he oversees the operations, staff, and ministry of the church. Throughout his career, Terry has managed teams of various sizes, from as few as 3 to as many as 100 people. His leadership style has been instrumental in shaping the culture and processes of the organizations he has been a part of.
Prior to joining Nags Head Church, Terry served as a marketing director for a company that was recognized eight times on the Inc. 5000 list during his 9 years with the company. He has also had the privilege of connecting with some of the world's top marketers from companies such as Pepsi, Nike, Hilton, Meta (Facebook), and more. Additionally, Terry has been an educator and a member of expert panels at international conferences, sharing his insights and experiences with others. As a leader, Terry believes in optimizing for success. He recognizes that there are bad, good, and better ways to do things, and he strives to gradually shift practices towards improvements.
Before becoming the Executive Pastor at Nags Head Church, he served as a youth and worship pastor for four years at a church on the Outer Banks and then as a family pastor for a church in Florida for another four years. He also underwent a three-year program to become a volunteer pastor at Nags Head Church before being hired as a full-time staff member eight months later.
In his free time, Terry enjoys cooking and has a few dishes his wife raves about. He also finds relaxation in various creative pursuits, such as music, drawing, painting, and writing. While he loves sports, both playing and watching (particularly soccer), he spends very little time watching television. His greatest enjoyment comes from time spent with his wife and with God's people.
Terry is deeply passionate about seeing men embrace intimacy with Jesus and discover His pattern of living. He firmly believes that when men truly understand and live out Christ's teachings, they become powerful agents of change in their families, communities, and the world at large. Terry is committed to fostering an environment at Nags Head Church where all people can grow in their faith, build strong relationships with one another, and be equipped to lead and disciple others.
Ramon Sanchez
Family Pastor
Ramon Sanchez Jr. serves as the Family Pastor at Nags Head Church. He is married to his wife, Rachel, and together they have three children whom Ramon loves to spend time with every chance he gets.
As the Family Pastor, Ramon is passionate about equipping parents to be the spiritual leaders of their households. He oversees and shepherds Nags Head Kids children's ministry and its volunteers. Ramon's heart for ministry is rooted in his desire to see people, especially children, discover and develop a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. He finds great joy in sharing the gospel whenever the Lord leads him to do so.
Before stepping into his current role, Ramon served as a volunteer pastor of evangelism and as a youth pastor on staff at Nags Head Church. His experience in youth ministry spans 17 years, giving him a wealth of knowledge and understanding in working with young people and their families.
Ramon's educational background includes a Diploma in Ministry Studies from Rockbridge Seminary. This training has equipped him with the necessary tools to effectively minister to the congregation at Nags Head Church.
On a personal level, Ramon's approach to ministry is centered on helping people understand their identity in Christ and empowering them to live a transformed life that only Jesus can provide. He is passionate about seeing individuals discover their God-given purpose and fully embrace the work that God has planned for them.
When he's not serving at the church, Ramon enjoys staying active and has trained in several martial arts. He holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in Shorinji-Ryu Okinawan Karate. Ramon also finds pleasure in playing retro video games with friends and occasionally hitting the golf course.
Burnie Staples
Assistant Pastor
Burnie also plays the bass guitar in the MilePost13 band.
While his
service at NHC is as a volunteer, Burnie stays extremely busy with his business
ventures.
Burnie and his wife, Roxanne commute from Chesapeake, VA every week where they spend much of their time hanging with their six grandsons.
Scott Williams
Pastor of Assimilation
Scott
has been active in Nags Head Church since moving the OBX in 2009 to
become the Northeast NC Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes. He is a 1991 graduate of Virginia Tech and received his
M.Div degree from Southeastern Seminary in 2002.
Scott is our pastor of assimilation, helping our regular attenders to connect and become partners in the church.
Scott has been involved in student ministry for 25 years, the past 20 with FCA. He's been involved in the G252 Student Ministries at NHC since 2010 serving students.
He's been married to Lori for 25 years and has two daughters, Chloe and Judy.
Luke Culley
Worship Leader
Luke has been on staff since May 2018. Luke is a graduate of
Liberty University. On Sundays you can find Luke on our stage leading
us to worship God in music. His love for worship is evident in his
leadership.
Luke and his wife, Naomi have two sons and a sweet puppy dog named Zoe.
